Hope you enjoy the site Typical City Traffic Concerns Introduction City traffic is something that you’re going to have to deal with at some point in your life. Rare are the people these days that are able to live their life completely independent of a city. Most people that live in rural areas need to travel into the city from time to time to get things and when they are there they are going to need to deal with city traffic. For anyone that isn’t already well versed in the ways of city traffic, here are some typical city traffic concerns that most large urban centers have to deal with. Traffic Congestion If there is one concern that would trump all others in the area of city traffic, that concern would have to be traffic congestion. Large cities have too much traffic to deal with and not enough roads available. Therefore, the large traffic gets bogged down on the insufficient lane space available, causing traffic congestion. This is something that is paramount at some point in every city in the world. In areas of the city that are highly traveled such as the downtown core, traffic congestion can get much worse than it would be out in the residential suburbs of the same city. Rush Hour Rush hour is a phenomenon that has started to work its way into every part of the world that has roads and cars traveling along those roads, but for the most part it is still a city traffic concern. Even though rush hour can also be felt on highways that connect suburbs and the city center, you’ll find out quite quickly that rush hour is far worse in heavily congested city traffic areas than on highways. Highways at least are only bogged down by the amount of traffic. City roads are bogged down by the amount of traffic as well as other concerns like traffic lights and pedestrians. During rush hour, city traffic is even worse than normal as people race to get to work in the morning and home in the evening. Typically, rush hour goes from 7-9 in the morning and 4-6 in the evening. Other Vehicles When you are dealing with city traffic, you’ll more often encounter other smaller non-car vehicles on the road. Bicycles, motorcycles, scooters and many other vehicles are part of typical city traffic flows. Learning how to navigate properly with these vehicles on the road is a large part of learning how to deal with city traffic properly.
